Hooray for you! Now you can be scolded like the rest of us!
Know that I do care about the environment. I recycle; I plan trips for my excursions so that I don't waste gas. But I love my SUV. I'm using gas up faster so that we can go on to the next best thing, right?
OK, maybe not. But still, my SUV can hold groceries and my dog and friends at the same time. It is comfortable, and it is higher on the road than little cars. After my car accident, I really prefer cars that are a little higher off the ground just out of reflex. I'm sure I'll get over it someday.
Until then, I'll continue to park right next to the snotty bumper stickered hybrids I see spouting the gospel of hatred against non-hybrid drivers.
(And, we looked into a hybrid SUV, but the nickel metal batteries are horrible for the environment, and far more expensive, but maybe in another decade...)
