Yesterday Kelli called Trilegiant Great Fun to cancel the bogus monthly membership fee foisted upon her when she attempted to buy shoes at Shoebuy.com and boy howdy was it fun.
She reached a lovely woman who identified herself as Rachel. Evidently
‘Rachel’ asked Kelli why she wanted to cancel her membership. Kelli said that it was because she was tricked into it, don’t want it, never wanted it, and believes it’s a scam.
“Bearing that in mind,” read ‘Rachel’ from her computer-prompted sales script, “do you realize that by continuing your membership that you can save 50% on blah, blah, yadda, yadda, eep op ork ah ah…”
“I realize it and still don’t want it,” Kelli replied.
“Bearing that in mind,” ‘Rachel' continued undeterred, “we’ll continue the membership, okay?”
Kelli paused just a second, gobsmacked by the incredible gall of these people.
“No. No, I don’t want to continue the membership. I called to cancel the membership so I want the membership cancelled and I want that $11.99 charge refunded to my card. And I’d like that done now, thank you.”
At that point 'Rachel' agreed to cancel the membership and refund the money. But still…
Avoid these folks and avoid the companies that are affiliated with them, which I now understand include: deepdiscount.com, deepdiscountdvd.com, buy.com, shoebuy.com, cheaptickets.com, and possibly priceline.com and orbitz.com.
Oh and say you want $20 in free gas from Exxon / Mobil :

Ok as you already may know by now, Priceline is definitely part of this. I just got smacked with 7 payments of $11.99 each! I called and got 2 of the payments refunded immediately but they require me to send a FAX to receive the remaining 5 charges. This really sux. What a scam!!!!!
I also suffered on their hands, but you deal with them sternly and ask the rep to call manager and after talking to manager, he gave me a refund# and said that they will refund all 4 transactions to my account.
They really suck and please get money back.
Somehow I got into this sucking black how of $11.99 charges by TLG*GREATFN.
When I called their 800 number, it had been disconnected. I'm letting my bank deal with them.
Yep. Sneaky bastards.
just got done with brian at great fun and he told me some cynthia dunn opened up an account with my name
they were debiting 12.99 every month and he was only authorized to refund this months 12.99, but it ends here he cancelled my membership, but somebody is making some money here ,cause most people are just glad to stop the monthly debiting, like myself technology humph
called my credit card company to complain about this charge...again, and they transfered me directly to TLG GreatFun. Ack! At first I panicked, but then it actually turned out OK! After verifying name and address, and member number*, (*which is part of the item description on your CC # statement btw)Carlo told me that I had signed up via a customer survey from Discount Dance. I never did get the $20 credit that was offered after completing the survey, and I don't remember receiving membership materials. I said I never checked the website for the coupons, and wanted out of the program. He kindly apologized for the inconvenience and connected me with the auto cancellation recording to receive the cancellation code.
So I will wait until next month, to see if the charge appears again. Comparing my experience with the previous posts, it sounds like they have improved their handling of customers wanting to cancel.
These f@#$%7s are slick...be vigilent and don't be taken like I was. I will get my money back if I have to sue...it's the principle. So much for secure transactions on the internet.
I have been scammed by these jerks for the last time. Every month I call them because they have taken $12.99 out of MY account. They said I signed up with them through Hotwire. I cancelled again today and they gave me a cancellation #. This really shows how easy it is for these people to take money from us. I won't put my info on my computer again.
I JUST FOUND THESE CHARGES ON MY BOSSES COMPANY CREDIT CARD... I AM WONDERING WHY SOMEONE IS NOT CALLING A LAWYER TO STOP THESE PEOPLE FROM DOING THIS ILLEGALLY. CHARGED 11.99 FOR OVER A YEAR FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHAT BALLS THEY HAVE...TBC
$14.99 a month I've been paying and I have no idea what it's going towards!! I thought this was from another subscription until I cancelled all subscriptions months ago, and this company is still charging me! And for what??? Stay clear of this scam...
TLG GREATFN ah, how i hate thee we just found out today that they overdrew our account by 15.99!!! they are so going to give us our money back AND pay our overdraft fee these people must like getting the nasty phone calls ordering them to give money back because this is the second time they've done this and i didnt sign up for any thing AND we just got ourselves a new card because of last time man these guys are sneaky >.<
they overdrew my account twice for a charge of 14.99 wich i had to pay an extra 28.00dollars twice
Just got notice of a charge on my Mom's card for... Amount:$139.99
Merchant: TLG GREATFN! What a ripoff! They'll even do this to senior citizens! They don't care!
The monthly charges on my account have been $19.99. They cancelled my membership (hopefully) and will refund 2 of the 3 months I have been charged in 5-8 business days and it will depend on my bank how soon that shows on my account. The third will require a letter...I cannot even figure out where this came from.
Ok, after some sleuthing, I have decided that this started when I made a purchase from Savelogy of a $15 iTunes card for $7.50. I had to call forgotten to activate the purchase so I just did. Wow. What an upsale. For only $4.95 I could get a card worth $100...etc. took me 4 times of saying NO to get him to complete my iTunes transaction.
SAY NO TO SAVELOGY Deals!
