Tom, your agent called. She said "Shut Up Already!"

NEW YORK (AP) - Tom Cruise criticized NBC "Today" show interviewer Matt Lauer on Friday when Lauer mentioned Cruise's earlier criticism of Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants. Cruise told Lauer he didn't know what he was talking about. "You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do," Cruise said.

The interview became more heated when Lauer, who said he knew people who had been helped by the attention-deficit disorder drug Ritalin, asked Cruise about the effects of the drug.

"Matt, Matt, you don't even - you're glib," Cruise responded. "You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, OK. That's what I've done."

Wha-wha-wha-What? Tom Cruise knows the history of psychiatry? He feels qualified to discourage the taking of anti-depressants?

Some folks are pretty and can act. Hold onto that, Tom. The first won’t last, and being hired for the second will be in jeopardy if you keep running your mouth.

Everyone… please keep taking ALL of your medications as prescribed unless you’ve discussed your decision with your doctor. But you know what? Don’t go by me. Do what you feel is right.

But don’t go by Tom either. Or Matt. Or Al. Or even Katie.

If you saw Tom's performance on David Letterman the night before his brawl with Matt.....

He was so disgustingly shiny, happy that he wasn't anwering any of Dave's questions, but kept repeating that he was happy.

Tom? Who are you trying to convince?
Take some more pills, you know you want to, that is why you lashed out. Sometimes when it hits close to home it makes one a tad defensive and uppity.

Sounds like Tom needs some medication.

I hate that he just announces that he "knows" the history of psychiatry and "knows" that it's bunk. Well if you know so much, why don't you enlighten us instead of constantly informing us that you know? What use is information if it isn't being transmitted?
